For over 5,000 years, Indian Women have appreciated the benefits of Indian Head Massage. The therapy originates from Ayurveda, an ancient method involving natural therapies, taking account of mind, body and spirit. Indian Head Massage is practised in the West and is a mixture of traditional, Indian and Western techniques.
Indian Head Massage is particularly good for stressful
and busy lifestyles. The supply of oxygen to the brain is increased by
stimulation which is an effective way to reduce stress. Indian Head Massage is also believed to be effective in the treatment and relief
of headaches and migraines, eye strain, insomnia and aches/stiffness
around the neck, shoulder and facial areas. It is also known to promote
alertness and vitality in its subjects.
An
Indian Head Massage lasts for about 40 minutes, although it can be varied to suit the client's needs or if it is to take place in the
work place. The treatment is performed in my low backed, portable
massage chair where the client can either be fully clothed or,
preferably with their top half covered only with a towel to maximise
contact, or if oil is required on the shoulders or neck.
